TEFL / TESOL COURSE OVERVIEW

The Sardinia TEFL course will be on hold until further notice. Still want to get TEFL certified in Italy? Check out our TEFL courses in Rome and Florence, or consider taking our 11-week course online.

Looking to earn an accredited 4-week TEFL TESOL certification that will qualify you for thousands of English teaching jobs around the World?
Earn your internationally recognized TEFL Certification in the heart of the Mediterranean on the rustic Italian isle of Sardinia.

A rugged paradise where rolling citrus groves and forested mountains overlook white sandy beaches and sparkling turquoise waters, Sardinia has been a crossroads of history and culture since the dawn of civilization. From Phoenician merchants and Roman centurions to the great powers of Byzantium, Spain and Savoy, Sardinia’s strategic location has made it a prize for conquering powers.

The course itself is held in Sassari, just steps away from the shores of the Mediterranean in the medieval port of Alghero, a charming seaside town of cobblestone streets, lively piazzas and honey-colored buildings that traces its roots to the 12thcentury. As a trading port in the heart of the Mediterranean, Alghero's history and culture represent a melange of influences from Spain, Genoa, and other Mediterranean powers.

As a TEFL student spending four weeks here, you will have ample time to dive into the city’s past and experience the warmth of its people while exploring its exquisite neo-classical monuments, browsing the charming shops lining its intimate streets and lingering over a glass of local wine or a cappuccino in a street-side bar or café.

Note about Sardinia job market: Sardinia is a moderately sized island off the western coast of Italy and while there are language schools there are limited employment opportunities on the island. The rule of thumb, go where the populations are large and the standard of living is high. Rome and Milan are where the majority of English teachers work (though there are many cities in Italy for English teaching). We provide job search guidance throughout Italy and graduates of this course are able to gain employment in Italy, if not specifically on the island of Sardinia.

Of course, one can always just grab a good book (or some TEFL homework) and spend a relaxing afternoon on one Sardinia’s world famous beaches, which are widely considered to be among the finest in Europe.

The island is also dotted with innumerable historical monuments and sites spanning more than 5000 years of history. Remnants of Sardinia’s Phoenician and Roman past litter the island’s landscapes while cities like Cagliari and Sassari offer a treasure trove of medieval architectural gems. Particularly unique to Sardinia are the thousands of Bronze Age towers known as nuraghi, which can be found throughout the island, as well as the natural scenery of the Grotta di Nettuno(Neptune’s Grotto), a vast network of underground lakes, stalactites and rock formations, which is just a short distance from Sassari.

Why Our Alumni Love Us!

Teaches English in Italy

Laura Tressel

I fell in love with the culture and the people in Italy. I love that the working environment is so much less competitive that in the US, and people really focus on living their lives outside of work, and there is a real focus on enjoying things like food, nature, and the company of your friends and family.
